　　Whenever I see La Paura I think of it as a companion piece to Eyes Wide Shut, or maybe it is the other way around. Adultery makes both films tick but in different ways. I think Phillip French was right on the money when he pointed out a Wizard of Oz thing in Kubrick's last work. Like Dorothy, Tom and Nicole go through fantasies and nightmares and at the end Dorothy's reassuring childish motto "there's no place like home" is ironically updated to the adult circumstantial adage "there's no sex like marital sex". Kubrick's take is intellectual, he never leaves the world of ideas to touch the ground. He taunts the audience first with an erotic movie and then with a thriller and refuses to deliver either of them. He was married to his third wife for 40 years, until he died. Rossellini was still married to Ingrid Bergman when he directed La Paura; they had been adulterous lovers and their infidelity widely criticized La Paura is a tale, a noirish one. The noir intrigue is solved and the tale has a happy ending. The city is noir; the country is tale, the territory where childhood is possible. The transition is operated in the most regular way: by car, a long-held shot taken from the front of the car as it rides into the road, as if we were entering a different dimension. Irene (Bergman) starts the movie: we just see a dark city landscape but her voice-over narration tells us of her angst and informs us that the story is a flashback, hers. Bergman's been cheating on her husband. At first guilt is just psychological torture but soon expands into economic blackmail and then grows into something else. From beginning to end the movie focuses on what Bergman feels, every other character is there to make her feel something. Only when the director gives away the plot before the main character can find out does he want us to feel something Bergman still can't. When she finds out, we have already experienced the warped mechanics of the situation and we may focus once again on the emotional impact it has on Bergman's Irene. In La Paura treasons are not imagined but real, nightmares are deliberate and the couple's venom suppurates in bitter ways. Needless to say, Ingrid has another of her rough rides in the movies but Rossellini doesn't dare put her away as he did in Europa 51, nor does he abandon her to the inscrutable impassivity of nature (Stromboli). His gift is less transcendent and fragile than the conclusion of Viaggio in Italia. He just gives his wife as much of a fairy tale ending as a real woman can have, a human landscape where she can finally feel at home. Back to the country, a half lit interior scene where shadows suggest the comfort of sleep. After all, it's the "fairy godmother" who speaks the last words in the movie.

　　十四岁的努尔正在法国南部享受暑假，他是四兄弟中最小的一个。他们一起住在市政厅，轮流照顾昏迷的母亲。母亲曾经喜欢意大利歌剧，所以努尔为她演奏，并培养了对这种音乐的热情。在社区工作和家里日益紧张的气氛之间，努尔梦想着逃离到一个遥远的地方。当他遇到一位教暑期课程的歌剧歌手莎拉时，他终于找到了走出困境并探索新视野的机会。

　父亲教授中国传统的书画艺术，他希望这门艺术能在儿子这一辈得到传承，可儿子选择了化妆师职业，由于观念上的分歧，父子二人常年存在隔阂。
　　退休后的父亲本想陪着老伴平静地度过晚年，但是老伴突发的疾病让老两口措手不及，老两口在是否让儿子放弃梦想回来照顾自己的问题上产生了分歧，病情的加重使老两口日渐艰难，经济上的拮据让他们雪上加霜、被逼入绝境。
　　得知母亲重病，儿子回到家中照顾母亲。过程中父子二人关系稍有缓和，但由于家里负担不起救治费用，加上病情太重，母亲还是离开了。母亲去世后，父亲终于理解了儿子，儿子也明白了珍惜眼前的亲情。但最终，儿子却在一场车祸中丧生。
　　整个故事是一个悲剧，但悲剧之中有温情、有陪伴，当然也有遗憾。父亲和儿子隔阂多年后重拾亲情，但母亲也离开了人世。我们常说，永远不会知道明天和意外哪个先来，珍惜眼前人，陪伴彼此认真活好每一天，或许才是我们最应该做的。

　　『マークスの山』（マークスのやま）は、高村薫の小説。1993年に早川書房から単行本が刊行され、2003年に改稿版が講談社文庫に収録された。高村はこの作品で第109回（1993年上半期）直木賞を受賞している。
　　南アルプス夜叉神峠で起こった親子心中事件で生き残った少年が、その後成長して「マークス」を名乗り、連続殺人を犯す。「マークス」には、ある事件に関係するキーワードが隠されていた。

　　Brought to Los Angeles for treatment, a recovering junkie soon learns that the rehab center is not about helping people, but a cover for a multi-billion-dollar fraud operation that enlists addicts to recruit other addicts.

　　故事发生在生存环境十分恶劣，资源严重匮乏的荒凉西部。一个名为约翰（沃伦·比蒂 Warren Beatty 饰）的男人来到此地，凭借着智慧和勇气力排众议开设了一间妓院，为自己在小镇上挣得了一席之地。

　　This is commonly known as Jean Renoir's first American film (1941), although Renoir scholar Alexander Sesonske has established that Renoir's creative role in the project was severely hampered by producer Darryl F. Zanuck and that he didn't regard much of the film as his own. (The ending, for instance, was written by Zanuck and directed by Irving Pichel.) Nevertheless, the film has certain beauties and pleasures. Part of it was shot in Georgia's Okefenokee swamp, and the treatment of the small community living ~Censored~ is often pungent and distinctive.

　　1900年的情人节，沿用英式教育的澳洲亚普利亚德女子学院组织了一次目的地为海茵悬岩的郊游。孤儿萨拉却因拖延学费而无法同行，只能目送好友米兰达和同学们在迈克劳小姐的带领下出发。抵达目的地后，米兰达等四人离队攀岩，被同在悬岩下郊游的迈克尔和仆役埃尔伯特发现，迈克尔对米兰达一见钟情，尾随了上去。
　　当天晚上，校长收到迈克劳与米兰达等四人失踪的报告。警方马上介入调查，校长为学院名声紧张不已，而萨拉因为失去了米兰达茶饭不思。迈克尔与埃尔伯特攀岩搜索找回了一名女学生，但米兰达仍然下落不明，萨拉在绝望中被校长赶回孤儿院，她选择了自杀……本片根据琼•莱斯利的同名小说改编，获1977年英国电影学院奖最佳摄影奖。
